connect on a deeper level
we are the location & people
Become a friend instead of a tourist; We are the producers & locals at the table sharing our history through foodways. Journey with us to connect yourself to memorable locations on a deeper level.
Sharing food from the source signals a mutual respect and curiosity with a community.
Welcome to a Taste of Our Home
Greetings Solo Travelers!
We welcome you and your genuine interest & curiosity. Share in our unique lifestyle that highlights our heritage through memorable foodway experiences which spring from our waterways & landscapes. A sojourn with us provides a deeper understanding of a disappearing environment.
Generations of stories and experiences are mixed within our unique area & our heritage tasting tours are with us and our community.
We are not appropriated, packaged, or mass-produced - your patronage literally supports us as small businesses, families and producers who live here.
What sets us apart is that we are invested in your travels with us too - as we accompany you throughout your experience within our home environments, even when another local expert steps in to share, engaging you as much, or as little, as you like.
We want you to feel as if you have access to our world as a family friend and special guest; Eating local food, & meaningfully engaging with the person(s) who made your delicious bites possible is where the magic happens! You’re sharing and learning within our daily world and being given a rare insight and opportunity to meet us.
We offer a wide and eclectic array of knowledge to share about our land, waterways, history and processes in and around the Chesapeake Bay here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Our professional backgrounds are as diverse as we are: Researchers, Farmers & Hunters (water & land), Technophiles, Chefs, Sailors, Fire-fighters, Bikers, Competitors, Artists, Engineers and a host of other labels that filter down and translate into kind, positive, hospitable people.
Our unplugged, authentic style is geared towards solo travelers and we are intrinsically small batch (4-6 people per tour) due to our natural environment and community resources. We focus on local family foodways, in a unique, tasty way that marries Michelin and rough around the edges settings with smiles, new knowledge and fun ruled by mother nature. There is literally a season for everything here.
Pack light! And let’s share a sojourn within our disappearing environments.
We look forward to your visit!
